Dr. Atkinson is glad to be back in his home territory. Having graduated from both Ontario High School (he won’t admit it during football season) and Treasure Valley Community College in 1999. He then served a church mission in Santa Cruz, Bolivia for two years. He is fluent in Spanish. Next He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. Finally he attended the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine and graduated in 2008. In November of 2008 he moved to Vale and started his dental practice.
Now he is happy to have time to spend with his beautiful wife and six children. He enjoys music and playing with the Treasure Valley Symphony. He also spends his time with his other “full time job” of spending time with his family. Whether its hiking camping or going to a little league game it keeps him very busy.
Hillary Morales (Office Manager)
Hillary joined our staff in August, 2012 as our office manager. She graduated from Vale High School in May of 2008. In June of 2008 she graduated with her Associates Degree from Treasure Valley Community College. In 2010 she married Lucas Morales III of Vale and they have four kids, Bahlie, Anthony, Bronc, and Journey. She is an avid hunter and loves being outdoors, camping, watching her children play sports, enjoys playing softball, coaching volleyball and spending time with family and friends! If she isn't here at work she is at home on her small farm working, in the mountains hunting or at her kids games! She loves her job and is very passionate about her patients at Atkinson Dental and along with the patients she also loves the challenge insurance brings! She is a fan of numbers and she gets the best of both worlds with her job! She also values a smile and is always ready to see one!
Christi Phillips (Hygienist)
Christi moved here from Louisville, Kentucky in 2008 with her family. Her husband Bob teaches 5/6 grade at Vale Elementary School. He also coaches Girls Viking Basketball and High school Track. They have four children ranging from college age to middle school. Christi has been working with Dr. Atkinson since September 2009 as a full-time hygienist. She graduated from University of Louisville Dental school in May 1995. She has been practicing for 25 years- and she still loves it because she has great patients and there is always something new to learn! She loves reading, taking walks, hiking, flower gardening and spending time with family and friends. She is very blessed to call Vale home!
Jacqueline Mendiola (Hygienist)
Jacqueline joined our office in 2016 shortly after graduating from Dental Hygiene school in November of 2015. Jacqueline works in our office part time. She has one daughter named Bianca. They both enjoy being outside, hunting, fishing and volleyball! Her first priority is being a Mom and spending time with her daughter and family.
Shannon King (Dental Assistant)
Shannon has been with our office since August of 2014. She went to school for dental assisting at Linn Benton Community College and graduated in 2001 from their Dental Assisting Program. She has been assisting for 17 years now and is CDA, EFDA and EFODA certified. In 1987 she moved from West Virgina to Albany, Oregon with her parents. In 2008 she moved to Vale, Oregon. Her family includes her fiancé Chris Faughn and her step-daughter Kaylie Faughn. She is well known in the community and is a master of most traits and very knowledgeable in almost ever subject! She loves her dogs as they are her children and enjoys horses, dairy goats and cattle! Because she already isn't busy enough in her spare time teaches and owns Belles & Gents Dance Studio here in Vale.
Rachel Phillips (Dental Assistant)
Rachel joined the Atkinson family in early spring of 2018 as a seasoned Dental Assistant. She graduated from Lehi High in 2008 and soon after, graduated from Mountainland Applied Technology College. In 2010 she married her high school sweetheart and they have one child who lights their world up! She enjoys cattle ranching, hiking, camping and service projects with the community! She plays softball in her spare time and finds every opportunity to teach her son the sport of baseball. Her passion has been from the beginning helping others smile, however she spent some valued time giving back by teaching new assistants as well to pass along her passion of dentistry! She is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to serving her patients and she loves the opportunity to give back to her community!
